I was honored to be invited to speak on feminist ethics in reparations policy for the descendants of formerly enslaved Americans. This presentation offers case studies as a way to understand normative (traditional, Western) ethics and how the application of those ethics to reparations projects has perpetuated inequality. I argue care ethics, while not without challenges, offers a workable framework for diverse stakeholders to collaborate on effective solutions.
